SYM has long been supporting various community activities and helping the disadvantaged in society, as highlighted below:
- SYM introduced solar “sunshine roof" in response to green energy and environmental protection policy.
- SYM and Hyundai Motor donated 2 million NTD for the Hualien earthquake.
- SYM donated motorcycles to assist Children Are Us Foundation's charity. fundraising
- SYM purchased onions to support agriculture.
- SYM and Hyundai Motor participated in the project: mobile classroom for early treatment in remote villages.
- SYM sponsored the National Sports Federation's National Walking Activity for Ten Thousands of People.
- SYM donated a total of 5 million NTD as Nantai earthquake relief and reconstruction funds.
- Sponsored Hsinchu County to organize the "National Trekking Tournament Event" at Emei Lake.
- Sponsored training funds for athletes in the Hsinchu County Athletic Association.
- Subsidies for the underprivileged were granted to distinguished high- and elmentary- school students in the rural Hukou- and Xinfeng- Township in Hsinchu
- SYM donated a total of 5 million NTD as Nantai earthquake relief and reconstruction funds.
- Donated wheelchairs to National Taiwan University Hospital Hsinchu Branch and Mackay Memorial Hospital Hsinchu Branch.
- Cooperated with environmental protection units to participate in beach cleaning activities.
- Invited the Hsinchu Blood Donation Center trunk twice a year for blood donation activities.
- Organized various warming activities, donated to Hsiang-yuan Nursing Home, Shih-guang Nursing Home, St. Joseph Home and Genesis Social Welfare Foundation, etc.
- Participated in the Hsinchu County Government Family Support Center charity sale.
- Participated in the Happy Life Foundation's "Happy Life-long Filial Piety" book donation event.
- Adopted the interchange in Hsinchu Industrial Park and regularly initiated staff to clean up the surrounding roads.
- Regularly cooperate with environmental protection units to hold various "mountain/beach cleaning" activities.
- Introduced the concept of a green factory. Won in 2008 the first place nationally in the group of “Industrial Area Green Landscaping Top Performing Units”.
- Promoted activities including energy saving, carbon reduction and food waste reduction by half.
- Promoted greenhouse gas inspection, and passed ISO-14064 certification in 2009.
- Promoted green procurement and won the 2007 Green Procurement Award for Enterprises and Groups of the Hsinchu County Government.
- Published the corporate environmental report.
- Joined the Chin-Tsyr charity group to donate materials to Bethany Mercy Nursing Home.
- Joined the Chin-Tsyr charity group to donate wheelchairs to Ho Shin Nursing Facility and Nan Men General Hospital in Hsinchu City.
- Joined the Chin-Tsyr charity group to visit the Catholic Shih-guang Nursing Home to donate wheelchairs.
- In May, subsidies for the underprivileged were granted to elementary schools in the Hukou area of Xinfeng.
